The Best Birthday Party in History!
Dress up in 19th-century clothes and have a blast in our hands-on activity center for The Best Birthday Party in History at Old Sturbridge Village. Choose from one of the special activities below for your birthday child and friends. The birthday child receives a complimentary Village tee shirt and memory book signed by all. Partygoers celebrate with lemonade and famous, fresh-baked cookies from the Old Sturbridge Village Bakeshop.
Birthday parties are designed for children ages 6 to 15 - Parties last about 90 minutes and accommodate a maximum of eight children and two adults. Groups may visit the Village's historic exhibits prior to or following the party. Parties are generally booked on Saturdays or during school vacation weeks at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., or 1:30 p.m.
Fee is per group, with Village admission included.

Fun and Games
Get ready to have fun! Play some of the games that were kids' favorites from 160 years ago. Learn how to play one of the oldest board games and make your own to take home.
A Fashionable Tea Party
Prepare for tea: bake a cake in the open hearth, set the table, and discover 1830s manners, like drinking tea from a saucer! Learn all about table manners, play some party games from the early 1800s, and make a Secret (a 19th-century party favor) to take home.

Play Ball!
How was base ball played before the Major Leagues? Learn some early rules and appropriate cheers, play a game or two, and start an 1830s cloth base ball to take home.
Setting Sail
Make a toy wooden boat - straight out of The Boy's Own Toymaker, printed in the 1850s. Then, take them for sail on the ol' Millpond…or have a race down the stream by the sawmill (weather permitting)!
